Re Ogden Gannets

Re the Ogden Gannets,Just received this e mail from Mick Cunningham who has kindly taken the time to go into the photos, poor as they are, and has come up with the following :-

Hate to say this but I think your gannets are gulls? The black on the under primaries should go all way to secondaries if they were gannets, also, I think I see hint of 'string of pearls' at primary tips ie white spots showing through.

I think the tails should be wedge-shaped. And, whilst I know it's hard from the photo, I think I see yellowy legs - not black as on Gannet. I think LBBs maybe dropping down at a bit of an angle so back end foreshortened and bills look long cos only seen from below?

Many thanks once again to Mick whose knowledge of all aspects of ornithology is unbelievable. Though Mick has now migrated south and lives in the Oxford area he still remains a great part of West Yorkshire birding.
