What a difference a day made.

A strange game this birding, yesterdays vis mig had skies filled with Woodpigeon, Fieldfare and several small passerine species , the Woodpigs and Fieldfares coming over in their thousands , yet today, as NK described it, " like a tap had been turned off ", with empty skies throughout.
Just a handful of Woodpigs came over >S and otherwise nothing. A call to HC at Oxenhope gave the same story there with very little on the move although he did get 14 Whoopers over the Ogden area plus a skein of Pinkies far out to the east.
Yet on the other hand DJS clocked up c 7000 Woodpigs over Ringby just a couple of miles to the west of us.
Foxhill park at lunch time produced 8 Redwing low and >E  along with 4 Chaffinch high and >W.
After that it was back to wallpapering for the rest of the afternoon.
