Ogden , late afternoon.

Distant Gt Spotted Wdpecker among the branches.
At least 9 Blackbirds along passerine alley.
                       Chaffinches feeding along the shoreline

                       Blackbirds are possible continentals
Good flock of Goldfinch by car park.

Ogden 1430 -1530 hrs. east banking.

An hour along the eastern path of Ogden late afternoon was very productive around the passerine alley area with the Chaffinch flock now up to between 50 and 60 birds but after a lot of scanning only one Siskin was amongst them with no Brambling present.
A Gt Spotted Woodpecker was mobile but refused to give itself up to the camera whilst at least 9 Blackbirds were in a small area, these possibly being continentals, acting much more fidgety than our resident birds. 5 Goldcrests were carefully checked.
The Little Grebe gave a brief appearance near the sw corner overflow and a single Dipper was down in the sluice gate area but no Kingfisher which now seems to favour the Parakeet pond.
A low count of small gulls on the shoreline with 5 LBBs out on the water but no sign of yesterdays Coot.
A flock of around 30  Goldfinch plus at least 3 Siskins were in the tree by the car park entrance.
A good cold spell promised over the next few days which should stir the waterfowl up a bit.
Good to bump into JL out searching.
