Countdown to more serious birding days.

Finalized the decision at work today that come June I,ll have served my 50 year penance finally hitting the big 65 so going on part time at the garage doing mornings only which will release me for more serious birding time, not to mention the extra shopping time but you can,t have everything.
Arranged to do 6 mornings 8 till 12 which fits in better at work and keeps me involved , if I stopped altogether I,d be climbing the walls in no time.
Other than that its been a pretty dull day bird wise with the strong winds still blowing carrying the heavy drizzle through and not a good forecast for the weekend or so I,m told.
Part of the local Lapwing flock were sheltering in their usual field down the Bonnet midday but still no signs of the Goldies .
Good to hear that Goldeneye are starting to turn up at Ogden , JL,DB et al, which is around their usual time always arriving late at Ogden. My earliest Ogden Goldeneye was 6/1/13 but since then its always been the end of January or beginning of February with the last sighting being 25/3/15 although I,ve had Mixenden birds until early April.
