Twelve months ago, mid January 2015

Good Long Tailed Tit flocks at Ogden
Great Northern Diver still present at Mixenden
Up to 5 pr Bullfinch, Ogden

                       1 pr Goosander for Ogden

2 Mute Swan with juv at Horton Country Park.

Siskin flock working the Alders at Ogden

Although we,re moaning about January 2016, looking back at January 2015 reports did,nt show it as being much better.
The highlights were the Gt Northern Diver still at Mixenden from early December whilst an unexpected Redshank stopped off at Fly Flatts.
Ogden had more passerines present with good counts of Bullfinch and Siskin along with visits from Goosander on the water.
The long hedge at Northowram held Tree Sparrow, Reed Bunting, Nuthatch and c30 Redwing.
Otherwise things were pretty much the same as this year but started to brighten up when February came with several skeins of Pinkies over and the first Curlews returning to the moor.
