Another mega for Queensbury

      Roper Lane, Redstart country
Female Redstart dead centre taken nearly half a mile away.
Black clouds over Foxhill this evening

Last of the sun, thank goodness, from Roper Lane

         Over Ovenden wind farm

An amazing advert for spec savers today when eagle eyed DJS found 3 Queensbury Redstarts off Roper Lane looking down the hill into Bradshaw. How he found them I,ll never know as its not a known site and not really a birding area apart from migration sky watching.
After a morning text I shot on there at lunch time and watched 1 female fly catching off the wall but such a distance was out of camera range. A great record for Queensbury who,s really getting put on the birding map this autumn.
Had a run round Roper Lane this evening but no chance of seeing the Redstart area with the blinding low sun in my face.
A 15 minute vis mig watch produced several Swallows and Linnets but no September Swift.
