Gull day over Queensbury

An horrendous day up on the tops today after a bright start then heavy rain from mid morning until early evening with a near gale force SW>6-7 turning W>7. Not heeding what my old Grandmother used to say, " Ne,r cast a clout till May is out " , I walked to work this morning bart coat so got a drenching walking home at lunch time.

Gulls were moving well throughout the day despite the conditions with several Herring gulls all >W along with a good number of LBBs going in various directions, mostly very high.
Black Headed seemed to to mainly heading >E with 38 counted over lunch time.
Foxhill park is alive with Starlings feeding on the pitches now showing that their young have hatched so soon we,ll be invaded with young brown Starlings.

Still no sign of a Swift yet which is not surprising in the conditions but looking back to last spring my first Swifts were at Fly Flatts on May 11th.
