Raggalds Flood

Record number of Mallard on the flood

                 Plenty gulls and Lapwings
2 Floods for the price of one.

A dinner time dash to check the Raggalds Flood was worthwhile to find it alive with bird life even though nothing special.
28 Mallards were on and around the water along with 12 Black Headed gulls, 5 Common gulls and 13 Lapwing.
With this amount of  wildlife on its only a matter of time before something is tempted down.

Thanks to Pete Griffin ( Leeds birder) , for the text reporting 6 Whoopers on Mixenden reservoir today, a bonus for him as he had come over to see the Gt Nth Diver.
DJS , or rather Jen also found an Oystercatcher there, a rare sighting in winter for our area.
See DJSs report on Calderbirds and Bradshaw Johns blog for some stonking photos.
