A frozen Raggalds Flood

1500 hrs and a frozen Raggalds Flood
Snow blizzard and fog rolling in.
1545 hrs Storm clouds passed leaving
a decent last light sky over Foxhill.

A brilliant morning with clear blue skies which looked ideal for Pinkies or Whoopers, neither of which developed.
A bit of sky watching from work produced several single Fieldfare over  in various directions along with at least 9 Blackbirds, probably all berry hunting.
A flock of 11 Goldfinch headed >S and 3 Lapwing headed towards Shelf Moor.

By the time I got free this afternoon it was about 30 minutes away from darkness and a snow blizzard was right over the top of Queensbury so just time for a run to Raggalds Flood to check the situation which turned out to be grim with the water and ponds frozen solid and covered with the heavy snow shower. Fog was rolling in from the west but fortunately passed over leaving a clear last light sky despite a few evening snow showers.

This is what the latest grand daughter thought of me getting no birds :-
