A bright start to the morning with rain by 1030hrs and heavy rain and fog by 1130 hrs clearing by late afternoon.
As soon as I set foot out of the door for work this morning I was met with the sounds of Redwings and Blackbirds with several of both species moving over low with several landing briefly in gardens and trees before moving on again.
Around Foxhill and on the walk to work I counted 16 Blackbirds and around 150 Redwings.
Once at work 2 large flocks of Fieldfare came over along with a few Woodpigeons and 7 very late Meadow Pipits.
After that all went quiet but HC was watching from Harper Lane watch point, Foxhill and reported Fieldfares piling through low and across the Foxhill area. He also had a Woodcock fly over the school playground and land lower down Harp Lane.
As we returned from an afternoon of shopping, yuk, a flock of around 150 Fieldfares were going over the house >SW at last light, so it looks as if the Foxhill Thrush movement continued throughout the day.
Had to get the dogs walked before the fireworks started erupting so by the time I,d done that the light was almost gone so just time to shoot up to the Raggalds Flood to check conditions which were good with decent depth of water and a pair of Mallards already trying it out.
